USMNT young star Christian Pulisic's future appears to be in Germany. After interest from Liverpool, Pulisic signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund on Monday. The deal sees him extend his contract until June 30, 2020.

Here's what this move means for him, the USMNT and other Americans.

What it means for Pulisic

Obviously every player wants to have a nice contract, especially a long-term one. This should end any thoughts the midfielder has had about leaving the club, if at all. He is at a club renowned for developing young talent and this should only aid in his improvement, which could reach the level of European soccer star.

"I still have a lot to learn," Pulisic said. "I feel Dortmund offers the best conditions to do that. I have the chance to play in front of over 80,000 fans. We have the best supporters in the world."

Club sporting director Michael Zorc called Pulisic an "extraordinarily talented player" and that he can become a cornerstone of the team's future.

What it means for USMNT

You always want your young players to play plenty, and by being in Europe with Dortmund, he'll continue to play against the best. That is one of the best ways to improve, and if recent matches are a sign of things to come, he'll continue to rise. Since mid September, he has played in 19 of the 21 matches.

What it means for other Americans

Having Pulisic at Dortmund doesn't just help him or the USMNT. It helps other Americans who are hopeful of reaching similar heights. The more he plays, especially in the Champions League, the more buzz he creates, and the more other clubs start to realize that there could be similar talents up and coming in the United States.
