England beat the U.S. women’s national team on American soil for the first time on Saturday, scoring a late goal for a 1-0 victory in the SheBelieves Cup.

At Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., it was Ellen White’s 89th-minute goal from a rebound that gave the visitors the win.

The U.S. had its chances and actually moved the ball really well but didn’t create enough in the end to score, which resulted in a shocking loss that most didn’t see coming.

The U.S. probably deserved to win the match but just couldn’t finish, where as England had a bit of luck on its side but to its credit, did enough defensively and got the late goal to earn all three points.

England had lost to France in the opening match of the cup while the U.S. beat Olympic champ Germany. The result sees the U.S. sit in second place in the cup on three points, tied with England and one behind France. The U.S. plays France on Tuesday, and England will meet Germany on the same day.
