Oh, he wasn't thinking.
With the U.S. up 1-0 against Ecuador in the Copa America quarterfinals Thursday, Ecuador's best player Antonio Valencia got a red card for a dirty tackle on Alejandro Bedoya.
Jones didn't like it, and he responded by doing this and getting a straight red card:

So when the U.S. could have a man advantage, he goes and screws it up and will now miss the semifinals should the U.S. advance.
