Just hours before the US was set to face Germany in its vital Group G clash, torrential downpours littered Recife, causing significant delays for fans and media trying to make it to Arena Pernambuco. The game is scheduled for noon ET.

Reports suggest that there are up to two feet of standing water on streets, a result of the non-stop downpour in Recife.

Media and fans alike have tweeted out photos depicting the flooded scenes.

Aside from the logistical nightmare, this will have a huge impact on Thursday's game as rain is generally seen as an equalizer while both teams try to navigate sloppy conditions.
