Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal to win the Italian Open on Sunday. Two days later he has turned over his $749,934 victory check to flood relief efforts in his native Serbia.

The No. 2 player in the world drew a heart on the clay court after defeating Nadal for his third career Italian Open championship.

"This heart on the court is for you," Djokovic said in Italian after the match, according to ESPN. "It's also a special dedication to my country, which is suffering a lot right now. My heart is with them."

It's estimated that nearly 2 million people will be affected by the flooding and the relief effort could cost billions of dollars. At least 48 people have died as a result of the disaster in Serbia and Bosnia.
