NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tahjere McCall scored 27 points with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals and Tennessee State edged Southeast Missouri State 65-62 on Thursday night.

The Bears took their last lead, 54-52, on a 3-pointer by Denzel Mahoney with 6:05 to play. McCall had a steal and a dunk at 5:31 to tie it and two free throws to put the Tigers up 56-54 with 4:18 remaining.

Daniel Simmons hit a 3-pointer to pull Southeast Missouri within 61-60 with 31 seconds left and five seconds later McCall made two free throws. The Bears missed a tying 3 before A'Torey Everett made 1 of 2 free throws and a quick layup by Antonius Cleveland made it 64-62. Simmons then stole the ball and missed a 3-pointer. McCall got the rebound and made one free throw with four seconds left and Southeast Missouri never got a final shot.

Tennessee State (10-5, 1-1 Ohio Valley) shot 57 percent in the second half.

Cleveland finished with 15 for the Redhawks (6-11, 1-1).
