TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) MiKyle McIntosh scored a career-high 31 points, reaching his season high of 21 in the first half, and Illinois State beat Indiana State 77-58 on Saturday for its fifth straight win.

The Redbirds (12-4, 4-0 Missouri Valley) won for the eighth time in nine games and are off to their best start in conference play since 2007-08 when they went 6-0. The victory was also the first in Terre Haute since Feb. 14, 2007.

Illinois State made nine 3-pointers to lead 47-24, its largest halftime lead this season. The Redbirds finished 13 of 25 from the arc with McIntosh making all five of his 3-pointers. The lead remained in double figures in the second half.

Deontae Hawkins added 14 points, Paris Lee added 13 and seven assists, becoming the seventh Redbird to reach 400 career assists, and Phil Fayne had a career-high 11 rebounds.

Everett Clemons and Jordan Barnes had 14 points each for Indiana State (6-10, 0-4), which is 0-4 in league play for the first time since 2004-05.
