What to know about each team:

Butler

The Bulldogs didn’t have much trouble with Winthrop. This is the highest seed for Butler in program history. And this is a good team. But now BU is matched up against a tremendous Middle Tennessee team. Key for Butler to win: Kelan Martin going for a double-double, Butler to outplay expectations around the rim and to keep Giddy Potts in check. This might wind up being one of the two or three closest second-round games.

Middle Tennessee State

The Blue Raiders made the NCAA Tournament by winning C-USA’s automatic bid. But they might have been at-large worthy, thanks to a resume featuring wins over Vanderbilt, UNC-Wilmington, Ole Miss and Belmont. Middle Tennessee is 30-4 with only one loss since Christmas. Kermit Davis is the coach -- he guided the Blue Raiders to an upset of Michigan State in last year’s NCAA Tournament.
