What to know about each team

North Carolina: Bounced from the ACC Tournament by Duke, North Carolina returns to action with eyes on the Final Four and another shot at the national title. The loss to the Blue Devils revealed the importance of Joel Berry in clutch situations, but as long as he’s on the floor this is a team that should be able to take care of business -- at least through the first weekend.

Texas Southern: The Tigers finished first in the SWAC with a 17-2 record during the regular season, and capped things off by winning the conference tournament over Alcorn State, 53-50. Texas Southern is in the tournament for the third time in the last four years, and is 23-11 on the season.
