Clemson junior K.J. McDaniels will forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2014 NBA Draft, a source told CBSSports.com on Tuesday.

A formal announcment could come within the next 24 hours.

McDaniels has gone from a borderline top-150 player in the Class of 2011 to a legitimate NBA prospect in a span of three years, and he averaged 17.1 points and 7.1 rebounds this season for the Tigers. The 6-foot-6 forward was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year last month. He's widely considered to be a possible first-round selection.

The deadline for underclassmen to enter the NBA Draft is Sunday.
