Alec Peters is returning to Valpo for his senior season, he told CBS Sports on Monday.
The 6-9, 230 pound big man was eligible to be a graduate transfer and play immediately at a higher level next season.Peters averaged 18.4 points and 8.5 rebounds last season.
Peters' previous head coach at Valpo, Bryce Drew, has moved on to Vanderbilt and the possibility of a reunion was being floated around.
"You're definitely tempted to transfer and go to a higher level," Peters told CBS Sports. "But these guys are my best friends in the world. I wanted to stay."
Peters said his main goal for his final year in college: winning a game in the NCAA Tournament.
"That's the ultimate goal," Peters said. "You dream of having your own one shining moment."
