Joe Jackson will return to Memphis for senior season
Memphis native Joe Jackson will return to the Tigers for his senior campaign, which is a big boost for a program that will take a step from Conference USA to the American Athletic Conference next season.
Joe Jackson is returning for his senior season at Memphis, Tigers coach Josh Pastner told CBSSports.com on Monday.
Pastner lost sophomore forward Adonis Thomas as an early entry in the NBA Draft. Big man Tarik Black has opted to transfer. Jackson was contemplating whether to turn pro. However, the homegrown product has decided to return to school, which is a big boost to the program.
The 6-foot-1 Jackson averaged 13.6 points and 4.8 assists per game this past season. He also shot 45 percent from beyond the arc.
Memphis will go into the American Athletic Conference next season.
