Michigan State's social media feed on Wednesday hinted that the Spartans may be breaking out some new threads for its game against Minnesota. Both the Instagram and Twitter feed for the Spartans put out this ominous post alluding to a potential new jersey against Richard Pitino's Golden Gophers.

It's a bit of a teaser, and there's really not much to gather from it. But if you take a closer look, as Michigan State basketball writer for 247sports Jeremy Warnemuende noticed, it looks a lot like a retired jersey from Michigan State alum Morris Peterson, who played for the Spartans from 1995-2000.

During Peterson's last game as a Michigan State player in 2000, Tom Izzo's team capped the year off with a national championship.

The funky font is the same -- or at least eerily similar to the 2000 uniform. They are some classic throwback threads that brought Michigan State some good luck under Izzo 17 years ago. If Nike puts a modern-day twist on those throwback uni's from the golden era, we could be in for quite a treat when the Spartans take the floor against Minnesota on Wednesday evening.
