VCU will be without its best outside shooting threat for Friday's NCAA Tournament game vs. Stephen F. Austin. Melvin Johnson will miss the game with a sprained knee.
VCU's Melvin Johnson will likely miss Friday's game against Stephen F. Austin because of a sprained knee, Rams coach Shaka Smart said.
There is no official timetable for Johnson's return.
"We'll know more on Thursday," Smart said.
The 6-foot-3 Johnson averaged 10.6 points and was VCU's best outside shooter, knocking down 39 percent of his shots from three-point range.
