NEW ORLEANS -- Kansas assistant Danny Manning has reached an agreement in principle to become the next head coach at Tulsa, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Wednesday.
An official announcement is expected soon.
Manning led the Jayhawks to the 1988 national title before becoming the No. 1 pick of the 1988 NBA Draft and spending 15 seasons in the NBA. He joined Bill Self's staff at KU in 2007 and developed a reputation as one of the nation's top assistants.
Manning replaces Doug Wojcik.
Wojcik spent seven seasons at Tulsa.
