The Charlotte 49ers stand a strong chance of being ranked in the polls come Monday thanks to what happened Sunday night in Puerto Rico. If that happens, this team will probably be the most surprising group to the Top 25 this season.

After Mitch McGary tied the game at 61 with less than 10 seconds to go, Charlotte opted not to call timeout (thank you for that; more teams, do this please) and caught the Wolverines in transition. A second-attempt basket by Terrence Williams fell through with 0.4 to go.

The 5-1 49ers won Puerto Rico by going through Kansas State and Northeastern before getting UM. Heck of a game and heck of a win. November has, as usual, provided us with some eyebrow-lifting results. Louisville falling to North Carolina, weirdly, was the biggest stunner from Sunday. This would be No. 2 with a bullet.
