Friday night was Kansas' "Late Night in the Phog," wherein the Jayhawks packed the Allen Fieldhouse -- with an estimate around 9,000 for those who were turned away outside -- and inaugurated their 2013-14 season with those basketball-frenzied, corn-fed Kansans.

It was a marquee event in the state because it was Andrew Wiggins' public unveiling for KU fanatics. He wound up putting on a show. Wiggins, who is our choice for National Player of the Year, threw it down often during the Blue-Red intra-team scrimmage.

But it wasn't just basketball that made the night so entertaining. Jayhawk newcomers alongside Wiggins, namely Joel Embiid, Perry Ellis, Tarik Black and Justin Wesley, got spruced in tuxes and went from awkwardly trying to play out their somewhat-choreographed dance to freestyling some solo moves. Video of that is below, but first, what a great shot here of Wiggins Embiid. A hat-tip on the videos to pal Jeff Eisenberg at Yahoo Sports.
