Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott was furious following the No. 3 Buckeyes' 17-14 loss to No. 9 Michigan State on Saturday.

Elliott only had 12 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown and ripped into the Ohio State coaching staff for the play-calling that only got him those 12 touches. Elliott said he lobbied Urban Meyer for more carries but wasn't given them.

"I think I do deserve more than 11 carries," he said, according to Cleveland.com. "I think I really do. I can't speak for the play-calling, I don't know what was going on or what they were seeing, but honestly, it didn't work out. It wasn't working."

Elliott also noted that he spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the hospital earlier this week and wasn't sure he would be able to play today, but being that he was playing, he wanted more touches in the power run game.

"It is kind of something we've seen all season, honestly," Elliott said. "We'll have some momentum, we're calling plays that work and then we kind of try to get away from it and try to get cute and run some other stuff."

The play-calling in the game was certainly curious to most watching, as quarterback J.T. Barrett finished with more rushing attempts than Elliott. Whether Elliott's health factored into that, it seemed as though the Buckeyes coaching staff felt their best chance in the rain was to keep the ball in Barrett's hands.

If there was any question about Elliott's plans for the future, he left no doubt with an emphatic statement at the end of his rant.

"This will be my last game in the 'Shoe," he said. "There's no chance of me coming back next year. I have to make the most of my time left. I just want to thank Buckeye Nation for making this place so special and I'm sorry about tonight."
