Kansas football's had a rough go of it lately. For Jayhawks fans, it's understandable that on the odd occasion when you have a reason to cheer, you have to make the most out it.

So when Kansas soundly beat Rhode Island 55-6 on Saturday night, Jayhawks fans did what any fan base would do: They rushed the field. The problem? There just weren't that many fans, and certainly not enough to bring down the goal posts.

On top of it all, they were embarrassed by the public address announcer who asked the students to leave the field citing "respect of this program."

Granted, given the state of Kansas football, it might be the only home win some of these students see this year, or for a while. The last time Kansas won a home game was Nov. 8, 2014, against Iowa State.

So, hey, live it up. It may have been sad but at least you got to celebrate!
