When you're on a team you aren't always going to be friends with every one of your teammates, but things might be going a bit too far in the Memphis locker room these days.

Memphis announced the indefinite suspensions of wide receiver Jae'Lon Oglesby and cornerback Kam Prewitt this week after an alleged on-campus altercation and gunshots being fired at Oglesby's car that evening.

According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Oglesby told the police he was in his apartment around 10 p.m. when he heard gunshots outside. When Oglesby went outside afterward he noticed bullet holes in two windows as well as the passenger side door to his car.

He also told police that he had had a physical altercation with Prewitt earlier that day.

A bullet also entered a nearby apartment, and somebody could be heard running away after the shots were fired.

"We are aware of the incident involving two student-athletes on the University of Memphis campus yesterday and are cooperating fully with the investigation," Memphis athletic director Tom Bowen said in a statement. "All student-athletes are subject to the University of Memphis Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities, as well as University and athletic department policies.

"In addition, we are monitoring a second situation involving shots fired at a student-athlete's parked vehicle at an off-campus location. We have offered our full support to the local authorities investigating that incident."

Oglesby has caught five passes for 46 yards this season. Prewitt is yet to appear in a game.
