The effects of Hurricane Matthew are still being felt across college football after Week 6 in which multiple games were moved or postponed as a result of the storm.

According to East Carolina athletic director Jeff Compher, the school's Thursday, Oct. 13 game at home against Navy will be moved to Saturday, Nov. 19, due to concerns over expected flooding in the area. Both teams had bye weeks originally scheduled for that date.

"Based on the latest information and projections we have received regarding the rising water level and subsequent adverse travel conditions in eastern North Carolina the remainder of the week, we feel it is necessary to ensure the safety of everyone involved," a statement from Compher read. "We are thankful for our colleagues at the U.S. Naval Academy for their compassion and understanding to assist us with this situation. Additionally, we are appreciative of American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco and his staff for their support throughout this process."

Among the games to be moved or postponed due to Matthew in Week 5 were Georgia-South Carolina and LSU-Florida. The Bulldogs and Gamecocks were able to play in Columbia, South Carolina on Sunday. Florida and LSU have yet to reschedule amid numerous complaints.

Matthew's destruction has been devastating. In North Carolina alone, 10 people have been reported dead and 500,000 structures were left without power.
