Johnny Manziel, like most college kids, likes LeBron James. When the Heat were in Dallas to play the Mavericks on Thursday night, the Heisman Trophy winner was spotted sitting courtside by the TNT cameras. Steve Kerr mentioned the cost of the seats and made a joke about Manziel's possible methods of obtaining them as a college student.

Apparently, TNT did not roll with Kerr on the joke. Nor did the friends and fans that began flooding Manziel's phone and Twitter account. It prompted a Craig Sager explanation later, revealing the tickets as a birthday present for Manziel. He practiced in College Station on Thursday afternoon, and made the three-hour drive to Dallas in time for the game.

Kerr, an Arizona alum, was just looking to sneak in a harmless joke about the SEC. Apparently "impermissible benefits" is a hot button topic for fans these days. Who knew?
