Penn State pulled off a stunning upset of No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday night in Happy Valley as the 19-point underdog took down the Buckeyes 24-21.

The Nittany Lions' offense wasn't especially dynamic, but a tremendous defensive performance and a pair of blocks by the special teams unit was enough to get the job done. After blocking a punt earlier in the fourth quarter to set up a field goal, Penn State blocked an Ohio State field goal attempt and returned it for what would turn out to be the game-winning touchdown.

Marcus Allen blocked the Buckeyes 45-yard field goal attempt, and Grant Haley scooped it up to take it 60 yards to the end zone for the go-ahead score. The Nittany Lions were able to force a turnover on downs on Ohio State's final drive to seal the victory and shake up the top of the Big Ten and national rankings.

That blocked field goal also gave James Franklin a true signature win for the first time at Penn State, changing the vibe of a season that was looking like it was headed towards another middle-of-the-pack finish without a win over a ranked opponent.
