Indians starter Shaun Marcum took the loss on Friday against Baltimore, dropping to 2-1 on the season.

The loss was Marcum's first since July 6, 2013. He was out of the Major Leagues all last season.

"Seems like it has been a rollercoaster," Marcum said of his four starts since getting called up from Triple-A. "One start is decent and the other one not so good. I'm trying to get better each time. My mechanics and arm slot felt better this time."

Marcum allowed three runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out four. His next start will be Thursday, against Seattle.
