Teletovic (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Friday's 114-110 loss to the Hawks. Teletovic hasn't had the impact the Bucks expected since signing him to a three-year, $30 million deal in the offseason, and the improved play off the bench of late from Malcolm Brogdon and Michael Beasley seems to have pushed the Bosnian forward out of coach Jason Kidd's rotation. He's now failed to leave the bench in both of the last two games and three times in the Bucks' last six contests.
Teletovic scored nine points (3-8 FG, 3-8 3Pt) and added seven rebounds in 19 minutes during Thursday's 111-93 win over the Nets. Teletovic missed his first game of the season Tuesday, receiving a DNP-CD after averaging 15.8 minutes per night in the first 15 games of the season. Teletovic's absence seems to have been a one-time event, and he seems likely to return his small but steady role going forward. Teletovic does not have much value other than as three point shooter, where he is averaging 1.9 per game.
Ilyasova (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Tuesday's 118-101 loss to the Cavaliers. Fellow reserve Michael Beasley (17 points in 26 minutes) was running hot in the second quarter, so coach Jason Kidd ended up sticking with him throughout the evening at the expense for Teletovic, who had played in each of the Bucks' previous 15 games. Considering that Teletovic is one of the team's top three-point shooters and had seen between 12 and 15 minutes in each of the past five games, it seems likely that his removal from the rotation was just a one-time occurrence. That said, it illustrates that Teletovic isn't an indispensable player for the Bucks, and those who own him in deep leagues shouldn't treat him as such either if there's an appealing option out there on the waiver wire.
Teletovic finished with six points (2-5 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist across 15 minutes in Sunday's 104-96 win over the Magic. Aside from a 22-point outburst against the Kings back on Nov. 5, Teletovic hasn't posted the sort of splashy scoring outings that made him a deep-league darling when he was a member of the Suns in 2015-16. He's shooting an admirable 39.1 percent from three-point range to give the Bucks a needed threat from downtown off the bench, but with Jabari Parker and Tony Snell both consistently seeing big minutes at either forward spot, there hasn't been enough playing time available for Teletovic to make much of an impact in the box score.
Teletovic supplied 22 points (7-9 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one assist and one block across 21 minutes in Saturday's 117-91 win over the Kings. The Bucks brought in Teletovic this offseason with the expectation that he'd provide some needed three-point production from the power forward spot, but after struggling with his shooting accuracy in the preseason and during the regular-season opener, the 31-year-old was dropped from the starting lineup. He'd seen 20 or fewer minutes off the bench in each of the preceding four games, but Teletovic was instrumental in Saturday's blowout win. His 22 points led all scorers, and his seven three-pointers were more than he'd produced in the previous five games combined. He'll hope to parlay this impressive showing into more frequent 20-plus minute loads off the bench, but it doesn't seem likely that he'll regain a starting role, as Bucks coach Jason Kidd seems to view the forward combination of Jabari Parker and Tony Snell as his preferred arrangement on the top unit.
