Guard Jason Richardson has decided to retire from the NBA, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports. Richardson inked a non-guaranteed deal with the Hawks last month due to the team's status as a contender, but after enduring some discomfort in his right knee over the past 4-to-5 days, an MRI revealed bone spurs in the knee. Considering he sat out the 2013-14 season due to injury and logged 52 games combined in the past three campaigns, yet another ailment was seemingly setting up the 34-year-old guard for another injury-plagued season, if he made the Hawks' roster at all. Known for his dunking prowess, Richardson will end his career No. 16 on the all-time three-pointers made list with 1,608, while providing 17.1 points (on 44 percent shooting), 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.9 threes, and 1.2 steals in 34 minutes per contest.

Richardson has played in only 19 games this season because of a foot injury and knee issues. Guard Hollis Thompson will start in place of Richardson. The 76ers are 3 1/2-point underdogs.
Jason Richardson will not play for the 76ers in Saturday's game against the Hornets, per the Philadelphia Inquirer. The 34-year-old Richardson is getting rested. He has played a total of six minutes in the last three games. The Sixers are seven-point underdogs on the road.
76ers guard Jason Richardson will play Wednesday after being expected to miss the next few days with knee soreness, reports the Philiadelphia Inquirer.
