Horford will enter the starting lineup for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Heat. Horford played 34 minutes in Game 4 with Kristaps Porzingis (calf) going down with an injury in the first half. With Porzingis sidelined Wednesday -- and likely longer -- Horford will step into the starting center role, where he's expected to remain until Porzingis returns.... See More ... See Less

Celtics' Al Horford: Increased role Monday
Horford supplied seven points (3-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Monday's 102-88 win over the Heat in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Horford was forced into an increased role Monday, thanks to a calf injury to Kristaps Porzingis. While initial reports indicate that Porzingis has avoided anything serious, there is certainly a chance he will miss at least the next game. Should that be the case, Horford would likely slide into the starting lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Out for Sunday
Horford (rest) will not play Sunday against the Wizards. The Celtics are resting Horford along with their five usual starters Sunday as they rest up for the postseason. Luke Kornet could be a busy man in the frontcourt as a result.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Won't play against Charlotte
Horford (toe) is out for Friday's game versus the Hornets, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford has been downgraded from questionable to out Friday due to a left toe sprain. With Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) also out, Xavier Tillman and Luke Kornet should receive increased playing time. Horford's next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Washington.... Celtics' Al Horford: Questionable for Friday's matchup
Horford (toe) is questionable for Friday's game against the Hornets, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. The Celtics have been cautious with Horford's workload in back-to-back sets this year, and although he returned from a one-game absence Thursday against the Knicks, it wouldn't be surprising to see him rest Friday as he continues to deal with a left big toe sprain. If he's unavailable, Oshae Brissett, Xavier Tillman and Luke Kornet are candidates to see increased work.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Questionable for Thursday's game
Horford (toe) is questionable for Thursday's game against New York, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford missed Tuesday's game against the Bucks, and it's unclear whether he'll be able to return for the first half of a back-to-back set Thursday. If he's sidelined, Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman (knee) could see additional minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Won't play Tuesday
Horford (toe) is out Tuesday versus Milwaukee, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Horford and Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring/rest) will both be inactive Tuesday, leaving Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman behind as frontcourt anchors looking to extend Milwaukee's ongoing losing streak to five. Boston is fully healthy with the exception of Horford and Porzingis.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Considered questionable
Horford is questionable for Tuesday's matchup in Milwaukee due to a left big toe sprain, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford and Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring/rest) are both questionable, but the rest of Boston's roster will be available Tuesday. If both big men are downgraded to out, Xavier Tillman, Luke Kornet and Oshae Brissett would be candidates for increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Starting Friday
Horford will start at power forward in Friday's game against the Kings, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford will start alongside Kristaps Porzingis, as the team will go with a bigger frontcourt than usual. This is due to Jaylen Brown (hand) and Derrick White (back) being sidelined. Horford has averaged 10.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists across 30.9 minutes in 31 starts this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Slides to second unit
Horford will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford nabbed a start Monday with Jaylen Brown injured, but he'll return to the reserves Wednesday with Brown available. He's averaging 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists over his last 10 games -- eight of which were starts.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Scores 15 in start vs. Charlotte
Horford finished with 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), five rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes during Monday's 118-104 win over Charlotte. Horford was inserted into the starting lineup for Monday's game due to Jaylen Brown (hand) being sidelined. Horford scored in double digits for the fourth time over his last seven games, and as a starter he's averaging 10.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. With Boston close to clinching the best record in the NBA, Horford will likely see his playing time diminish as the regular season draws to a close.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Gets starting nod Monday
Horford is in the starting lineup to face the Hornets on Monday. Horford will slide into the starting unit with Jaylen Brown (hand) out. This will move Jayson Tatum to the small forward role, while Horford will play alongside Kristaps Porzingis in the frontcourt. Horford is averaging 10.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 blocks per game across 30 starts this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Plays 30 minutes Saturday
Horford contributed nine points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Saturday's 104-92 victory over the Pelicans. Horford sat out of the Celtics' overtime loss to the Hawks on Thursday due to a toe injury, but he was back in the lineup Saturday. He came off the bench after starting in each of his last seven appearances, but the five-time All-Star still managed to log 30 minutes of playing time. He's been a pseudo-starter for the Celtics this season, though with Boston close to locking up home-court advantage throughout the postseason, the team could opt to rest the veteran forward over the last games of the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Not listed on injury report
Horford (toe) isn't listed on Boston's injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Pelicans, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Horford continues to get periodic rest days to manage a toe injury but will be good to go Saturday. The Celtics' usual rotation is at full strength, so Horford should operate off the bench for the first time since March 7.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Ruled out against Atlanta
Horford (toe) won't play in Thursday's game versus the Hawks, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Horford has been downgraded from questionable to out Thursday due to a sprained left big toe. Xavier Tillman and Luke Kornet are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Horford's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with the Pelicans.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Iffy for Thursday
Horford is questionable for Thursday's game against the Hawks due to a left big toe sprain, John Karalis of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. Horford continues to periodically sit out to rest a lingering toe issue, but his absences normally come during back-to-back sets. He's started in each of his last seven appearances, averaging 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals-plus-blocks in 31.9 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Exploited down the stretch
Horford totaled seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 36 minutes during Monday's 120-118 loss to the Hawks. Horford delivered his trademark offensive synergy and chipped in on the defensive glass, but Atlanta beat him to the rim and punished him on the offensive glass in the fourth quarter of Monday's loss. Horford has been sharp of late, averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds on 60.0 percent shooting in 32.2 minutes across his last five games, but Monday serves as a reminder of the danger involved in Boston being heavily reliant on the 37-year-old defensively.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Vintage performance in win
Horford produced 23 points (8-16 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes during Saturday's 124-113 victory over Chicago. Horford turned back the clock, pouring in 23 points as the Celtics won their ninth consecutive game. Despite being without a number of key pieces in recent times, Boston continues to widen the gap at the top of the Eastern Conference. While Horford is no longer an elite fantasy producer, he typically does just enough to maintain back-end 12-team value, even more so when Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) is not in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Good to go against Chicago
Horford (toe) is available for Saturday's game versus the Bulls. Horford has been upgraded from questionable to available Saturday after missing Boston's previous contest with a left big toe sprain. With Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) out, Horford will likely enter the starting five against Chicago.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Al Horford: Gets questionable tag
Horford (toe) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game in Chicago, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Horford is in danger of missing his second straight contest due to a left big toe sprain. If he ultimately gets the green light, he could be in line for a bigger role due to Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) being already ruled out. More clarity on the veteran center's status should come closer to tipoff.... See More ... See Less
