Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Scores 20 in Sunday's win

Gordon scored 20 points (6-16 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Sunday's win over the Suns. He's cooled down after his strong run to begin the month of November, and Sunday was the first time Gordon has scored 20 or more points, or hit more than two three-pointers, in five games. He's a streaky scorer, though, and he continues to see big minutes as the starting two-guard for the Pelicans, so Sunday's performance could mark the beginning of another hot streak.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Scores 30 in a losing effort Friday

Gordon scored a game-high 30 points (11-22 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 4-5 FT) with three rebounds and a steal in 36 minutes during Friday's loss to the Raptors. With Anthony Davis (hip) sidelined, Gordon came through with his best scoring performance of the season but didn't get enough help from the rest of the Pelicans to pull off the upset in Toronto. He's now averaging 22.8 points, 4.0 threes, 2.8 boards, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals in six November games.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Explodes for 26 points

Gordon posted 26 points (10-20 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 32 minutes of action Wednesday against the Hawks. Gordon had a pretty stellar performance Wednesday, and he shot at a fairly high clip while doing so. He's averaging 21.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steal over the last five games, so his scoring hasn't really been an issue. His lack of contribution in other categories limits his fantasy potential, but he's still a viable option in most formats.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Scores 22 in Friday's loss

Gordon scored 22 points (8-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT) with two rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 39 minutes during Friday's loss to the Hawks. Anthony Davis was commanding all the defensive attention on his way to a 43-point night, which gave Gordon the room to post his best shooting performance of the season, and third 20-point night in five games. If he can stay healthy this season, Gordon could be headed for his best season since he came to New Orleans.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Scores 21 points

Gordon posted 21 points (8-19 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go with two rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes of action Tuesday against the Magic. Gordon is averaging 18.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.5 threes for the season. He's able to put up solid scoring numbers every now and then, but his lack of contribution in other categories limit his potential. Still, he's a valid option in standard leagues.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Scores 22 against Bulls in preseason finale

Gordon tallied 22 points (6-16 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, and two assists in a preseason win over the Bulls on Friday. With Jrue Holiday on a strict minutes restriction and Tyreke Evans missing the first 6-8 weeks, Gordon could be asked to be a bigger part of the offense. In fact, he may be asked to handle the ball more than ever and he could be a nice value pick late in drafts. Gordon has shown the ability to handle in his days with the Clippers and if he can incorporate some assisting numbers with his great shooting, Gordon becomes a very interesting player. He still is primarily a spot-up shooter out of the shooting guard position, but the lack of point guard depth on this roster definitely stirs some things up for the first month or two of the season.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Returns to action Monday

Gordon (back) played 15 minutes in Monday's preseason loss to the Rockets, scoring eight points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2) and handing out two assists. Gordon had been on the bench for the last two games while dealing with back spasms, but it looks like the injury is no longer an issue. He'll enter the season as the Pelicans' presumptive starter at shooting guard and will aim to reverse a four-year decline in his points per game output.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Questionable for Monday

Gordon (back) remains questionable for Monday's preseason game against the Rockets, Bourbon Street Shots reports. Gordon continues to suffer from back spasms, but the issue shouldn't impact his long-term availability. Tyreke Evans (knee) has already been ruled out for the contest, so Nate Robinson and Alonzo Gee could see increased minutes in Monday's contest if Gordon can't go.

Pelicans' Eric Gordon: Out Saturday with back spasms

Gordon (back spasms) will sit out Saturday's preseason game, the Times-Picayune's John Reid reports. The back spasms have now kept Gordon out for two straight preseason games. It is unclear if he will be able to see game action before the start of the regular season.

Pelicans G Eric Gordon dealing with back spasms

Pelicans guard Eric Gordon was held out of the Monday preseason game against the Bulls due to back spasms, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. The team described his absence as precautionary, so it's possible that the eight-year veteran could return to the court for the next exhibition contest against the Kings. Gordon, who is line to start at shooting guard this season, is averaging nine points on 29.4 percent shooting from the field over his two preseason appearances.
