Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler made it enjoyable but in the end this was always Rory McIlroy's tournament. If you missed anything on Sunday I live blogged the entire thing.

Here's a recap:

1:11 p.m. -- This thing is over and it was a blast. Rory McIlroy will be your 2014 British Open champion and the career slam is 72 holes away.

1:10 p.m. -- I am.

1:01 p.m. -- Sergio just keeps hitting big-time shots and it just won't be enough. He picked the wrong week (again) to play great at a major.

12:52 p.m. -- Rory just had somebody tossed on the par-5 16th after banging that drive nearly 400 yards. He's full Tiger right now.

12:51 p.m. -- This is terrific.

12:45 p.m. -- Haha, 360 with your driver on No. 16 with a three-shot lead. Well done, McIlroy, well done. Enjoy the beverages from that jug.

12:42 p.m. -- A 6-iron from 244 yards for Sergio? My gosh!

12:32 p.m. -- The golf gods woke up after sleeping in. Sergio just took two shots to get out of the bunker on No. 15.

12:23 p.m. -- This sums up Sergio Garcia's day pretty nicely.

12:19 p.m. -- Whatever happens Sergio has been a monster down the stretch. Color me impressed (and glad that I picked him).

12:12 p.m. -- Hah.

12:08 p.m. -- Rory just yanked one ito the long stuff. Sergio is still in it. What if he steals it at the end?!

11:55 a.m. -- That Sergio shot off the grantstands reminded me of this:

11:53 a.m. -- If we can't have Tiger on Sunday at a major, Sergio is the next best thing. No matter what happens he's always entertaining.

11:37 a.m. -- McIlroy moves the lead back to three with a tap-in birdie. Sergio might need two more eagles coming in.

11:24 a.m. -- This is tremendous. Wow.

11:09 a.m. -- This is everything:

11:05 a.m. -- Why do ESPN's cameras distort colors so much when they show slo-mo shots? Rory's pink shirt looks orange.

11:00 a.m. -- Is it reading too much into it to think that having a big lead actually hurts you more than it helps you because once you start flailing you think 'there's no way this can happen, is there' and then it happens?

10:58 a.m. -- This made me laugh.

10:56 a.m. -- Rory makes two straight bogeys. The lead is three over Sergio.

10:50 a.m. -- Here's Rickie Fowler's Sunday Oklahoma State gear:

10:44 a.m. -- I badly want Sergio to get involved in this tournament.

10:38 a.m. -- Haha!

10:19 a.m. -- This is crazy:

9:53 a.m. -- Rory birdies No. 1. So long, field.

9:47 a.m. -- I don't think Rory's caddie has smiled all week which is pretty awesome considering the circumstances.

9:43 a.m. -- Rory looks crazy nervous. Hits his driver 596 yards off the first.

9:36 a.m. -- Here we go..

9:20 a.m. -- Tremendous piece here in the New York Times about golfers losing their clubs when traveling. It sounds boring but it's kind of fascinating.

9:07 a.m. -- If tournaments offered a channel only showing dudes hitting on the range with Pro Tracer involved I'd watch that until the leaders teed off.

9:04 a.m. -- Here's that Tiger column by the way. Hope you enjoy my hot take.

9:03 a.m. -- Tiger would know...

8:48 a.m. -- The hot takes on Tiger are scalding right now. He just shot 294 for the week, 24 off the pace he set in 2006. Column coming soon.

8:21 a.m. -- Hah!

8:07 a.m. -- Snakes on a course!

8:05 a.m. -- Yep, we've reached this portion of the tournament:

7:24 a.m. -- Breakfast time for me.

7:23 a.m. -- Tom Watson ends as the low Watson and low TW. That's tremendous.

7:20 a.m. -- The orange shirt and black pants look for Rickie Fowler is so much better than the all-orange thing. Eons better.

7:13 a.m. -- Can you in-game wager on Tiger not doing interviews after his round?

7:08 a.m. -- Tom Watson is 3 under on the day. That's six shots better than Tiger Woods.

6:45 a.m. -- [Wakes up, Tiger barely misses fairway and drops a monster f-bomb.] He's 21 shots back of the lead. I might go back to bed.
