It's the last of four Texas tournaments for the PGA Tour this season, and Jordan Spieth is still looking for what would be his first win in his home state. I say "still" a tad tongue in cheek (he's 22). But with the emphasis he puts on the Texas events, it's mildly surprising it hasn't happened yet.

Let's take a look at this week's contest.

What: Dean & Deluca Invitational | Where: Fort Worth, Texas | When: May 26-29

Participants and odds

Jordan Spieth: 13-2
Adam Scott: 11-1
Matt Kuchar: 12-1
Charley Hoffman: 22-1
Kevin Chappell: 22-1
Zach Johnson: 22-1
Chris Kirk: 28-1
Patrick Reed: 28-1
Colt Knost: 33-1
Danny Lee: 33-1
Kevin Na: 33-1

Field strength: C-

No offense to Colt Knost (a.k.a. "Big Gravy") because I like him and I like his game, but when he's in your top 10 list of favorites, that's probably not the best thing for your tournament. The course will be the star this week which I'm totally fine with.

Story to watch: How will Spieth respond after that putrid 74 to end last week's AT&T Byron Nelson? He has played really well here in the past (three top 15s), but his swing has been loose of late. He will be the narrative this week in Fort Worth.

Last Sunday was rough for Jordan Spieth. USATSI

"I had an off day today," said Spieth on Sunday at the Nelson. "We're going to go to a golf course next week where I've had success. I felt like I found something today that I can fine-tune with my ball-striking and my putting is there. I feel very confident about next week. I almost matched my best finish in six starts here. I can look at that positively."

Past winners

2015: Chris Kirk
2014: Adam Scott
2013: Boo Weekley
2012: Zach Johnson
2011: David Toms

Not exactly a who's who on the longest bombers list. I like that, though. Colonial is a short track by PGA Tour standards at 7,200 yards, but it's penal if you're not putting on a ball-striking extravaganza. All of those players listed above are incredible ball-strikers.

Let's look at the picks this week.

Expert Picks (Kyle Porter)

Player Pick Analysis
Winner Kevin Chappell nearly stole The Players Championship a few weeks ago. He finished in the top 20 at this tournament last year and hits it as well as anybody on tour with his irons. Four top 10s in his last six starts. Odds: 22-1
Top 10 Jordan Spieth is not exactly going out on a limb, but he has three top 15s in three appearances at this course. Of course, he also wasn't fighting a two-way miss that I remember in those tournaments. Odds: 9-1
Sleeper Ian Poulter as a sleeper? Ian Poulter as a sleeper. The Englishman is skipping the BMW PGA Championship for this tournament where he's had some recent success. Poults has finished in the top 15 three times including a T5 in 2015. Odds: 80-1

Here are my fantasy picks from our CBS Sports Pick 4 Fantasy Golf groups. Some of these are different than above because you aren't picking with odds. It's just straight up, and the players are tiered off.

Expert Picks (Robby Kalland)

Player Pick Analysis
Winner Colt Knost is as hot as anyone on the PGA Tour the past few weeks with a T3 at the Players and T4 last week at the Byron Nelson. He's in top form and finished T10 here a year ago, so I'm taking Big Gravy to pull down this win. Odds: 33-1
Top 10 Charley Hoffman has finished in the top 15 in four of five events since the Masters, including a win at the Texas Open. He was T12 last week at the Byron Nelson and posted a T10 performance at Colonial last year. In a pretty weak field, I'd expect Hoffman's strong run to continue with another top 10 effort. Odds: 22-1
Sleeper Adam Hadwin finished T5 here last year and is in solid form, making the cut at the last five events that he's entered, including the Players. Hadwin hasn't placed better than T30 in those five starts, but he might be able to find the magic he had last year at Colonial, and at 125-1 seems worth at least a look. Odds: 125-1
