Kid Rock has won a golf event more recently than Tiger Woods (and most other golfers, for that matter). He was teamed with Jack Nicklaus (!) at the skins shootout portion of the Bass Pro Legends of Golf tournament at Big Cedar Lodge over the weekend, and the pair took down Gary Player and Lee Trevino.

After playing in a variety of pro-ams over the years, including the famed AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Kid Rock said he got a little nervy when it came time to tee it up with the Golden Bear. Still, he played well.

"Yeah, it was nuts man," Kid Rock told KSDK. "I don't get nervous much but I was a little bit today and then I started swinging and I'm like, 'Man, stuff's working out.'"

Said Nicklaus: "He hit the ball great! He told me he's a member down there at Bear's Club [in Florida] and I've never played with him before and he said he started practicing last week. He said he's got blisters all over his hands. He said, 'I didn't didn't know if they were gonna hit anything,' and he hits eight out of nine greens. That's pretty good!"

It's better than Woods did pre-surgery at the course earlier in the week

Golf is the greatest, isn't it? What other hobby would bring Jack Nicklaus and Kid Rock together for a few hours of genuine fun? The greatest golfer of all time teaming with a rock star past his prime. I love it, and I love that they took down Trevino and Player in this nine-hole matchup.
