Payne Stewart's daughter Chelsea works for the PGA Tour these days but she found time to pose with the bronze statue of her late father at the 2014 US Open.
Chelsea and her mother, Tracey, were at Pinehurst to accept the Bobby Jones Award on behalf of Payne.
She talked on PGATour.com about where she was when her dad won in 1999.
"I was not there. I actually was on a school bus headed back to Orlando from a basketball camp at Florida State University. We were listening to the NBC broadcast on the radio and got back just as they teed off on 18. I didn't even see the last putt drop, but someone ran into the building where we were unloading yelling, 'He made the putt! He made the putt!' We all cheered and hugged. I got back to my friend's house that evening and watched all the highlights. It was great."
The whole interview is great. She gives the golfers she'd most like to see win (Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson, Harris English) and tells a tremendous David Feherty story.
Clearly the classiness of the family will continue on for another generation.
