PHOTOS: Rory McIlroy shares major No. 3 with his mother
Rory McIlroy and his mom had a sweet moment before the youngster hoisted the Claret Jug on Sunday at Hoylake.
This might be Rory McIlroy's third major championship but it's the first his mother has been in attendance for.
McIlroy told ESPN's Tom Rinaldi after his round he loved sharing his first hug off the 18th green with mom.
"It means an awful lot. This is the first major championship my mum's been at and to be able to see her on the back of the 18th, it was really nice. It's nice to be able to share a moment like this with them."
Pretty cool moment to end a pretty grand week. He also took a selfit with the Claret Jug:
