There has been a lot of talk about the rain Pinehurst No. 2 received on Thursday night in front of the second round of the 2014 US Open but I think this video shows just how severe the weather was.

It also makes you realize how soft the course is playing for the second round and helps you understand why Martin Kaymer is running away with the tournament.

Bob Farren noted how quickly the rain came.

"It all came down at one time. Almost an inch of rain in about 30 minutes time. It did interrupt some of our mowing schedules."

That's also interesting -- the course wasn't cut as closely in the fairways and around the greens as it usually is because the groundscrew was busy getting rid of the water.
