The Braves, who are presently terrible at baseball, recently handed over their Twitter account to general manager John Coppolella, who fielded questions from fans - questions that were in part selected for their lack of vigorous profanity, probably.

During the course of this exercise in media sociale, one interlocutor asked which GMs Mr. Coppolella enjoyed trading with, and Mr. Coppolella answered thus:

And the people say: Mmm hmm.

Look, this is a gentlemanly and well-intentioned answer on the part of Coppolella, but there's no getting around the inferences that will be made when a Braves exec says he enjoys trading with Diamondbacks GM Dave Stewart.

These two, of course, teamed up in December for a swap that sent Shelby Miller and Gabe Speier to 'Zona in exchange for Dansby Swanson, Ender Inciarte, and Aaron Blair. Miller, it should be noted, is presently lugging around an ERA of 6.36. However, even if Miller starts pitching in line with expectations, this will still project as a drastic overpay on the part of the Diamondbacks and, on the part of the Braves, a course-altering deal.

So that's one reason Coppolella might enjoy trading with Dave Stewart. Not that he would say such a thing.
