Royals' Steve Tolleson: Signs minor league deal with Royals
Tolleson signed a minor-league contract with Kansas City, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Tolleson was released by the Orioles last week, and the 32-year-old will report to Triple-A Omaha. Tolleson has experience playing at second base, third base, shortstop and the corner outfield spots, so he will give Kansas City some much-needed depth following Moustakas' season-ending injury. Tolleson is a career .245/.299/.372 hitter at the MLB level.

Tolleson was reassigned to minor league camp after Friday's game, MASN Sports reports.
Tolleson's move comes as no surprise. He struggled defensively early in the Grapefruit League and he wound up hitting just 7-for-44 on the spring. Tolleson is no spring chicken at 32-years-old and at this point he should be relegated to organizational depth.

Tolleson committed three errors at third base in Saturday's Grapefruit League game.
Tolleson's best shot at making the roster would have been to unseat Ryan Flaherty as the utility infielder. That probably won't happen after a performance like this. It will be tough to wipe this game from management's memory. As a non-roster invite, Tolleson could extend his career by taking a minor league deal with the Orioles or another team.

Orioles' Steve Tolleson: Receives non-roster invitation to Orioles' spring training
Tolleson will attend Orioles' spring training as a non-roster invitee, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The 32-year-old second basemen has made four separate appearances in the MLB with the Athletics in 2010, Orioles in 2012, and Blue Jays in 2014 and 2015. During that time span, he made 331 plate appearances and accumulated a .245 batting average and .299 OBP. Given his relatively modest stats and limited experience at the big-league level, it will be hard for him to find playing time even if he receives a roster spot with the Orioles.

The veteran middle infielder has played in just 182 MLB games, despite being 32 years old. He will get an invite to spring training as part of the deal, but he will likely just offer organizational depth in 2016.
