Okajima was released by the Orioles on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
Okajima hasn't played in America since 2013, and it appears that the Orioles didn't have a spot in the organization for him to change that. Given his past seasons in foreign leagues, he could look to another country to play if he can't find another opportunity in the US.

Orioles' Hideki Okajima: Signs minor league deal with Orioles
Okajima signed a minor league deal with the Orioles on Wednesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
The 40-year-old reliever spent all of last season with the Yokohama BayStars of the NPB, where he allowed seven runs on six hits and eight walks to go with seven strikeouts in 7.1 innings across 10 appearances. Upon his return to MLB, he'll report to minor league camp and provide the Orioles with organizational depth.
