  • Kenny Wilson: Released by Tigers

Wilson was cut loose by Detroit on Thursday, Emily Waldon of The Athletic reports.

Wilson had joined the Tigers' organization this past offseason on a minor-league deal. He spent a majority of the season at the Double-A level with Erie, slashing .278/.377/.370 with 14 RBI, but wasn't able to impress during a brief showing in Triple-A. The 28-year-old has yet to appear in a big-league contest and won't appear on the fantasy radar moving forward.

  • Athletics' Kenny Wilson: Sent back to minors

Wilson was reassigned to minor league camp Sunday.

The journeyman outfielder has torn it up this spring, slashing .375/.455/.750, but given his previous troubles with advanced pitching, this success seems to be a bit of an anomaly. Wilson will likely spend most if not all of the 2017 season in the upper minors due to the outfield depth Oakland boasts at the major league level.

  • Athletics' Kenny Wilson: Hits three-run homer in Friday win

Wilson smacked a pinch-hit three-run homer in his only at-bat in a 6-1 Cactus League win over the Giants on Friday.

The non-roster invitee's seventh-inning blast came off reliever Michael Roth with one out. It was the second hit in five spring at-bats for the 27-year-old outfielder, who slashed an outstanding .347/.421/.500 over 133 plate appearances at Double-A Jacksonville with the Marlins organization to start 2016. However, he couldn't come close to replicating that success after his subsequent promotion to Triple-A New Orleans, mustering a .219 average over 358 plate appearances. Wilson brings plenty of speed to the table -- as evidenced by his 292 stolen bases over 862 minor league games -- but appears destined to start the 2017 campaign at the minor league level given the crowded nature of the A's outfield.

  • Athletics' Kenny Wilson: Latches onto Athletics with NRI deal

Wilson signed a minor league contract with the Athletics on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, CSN Bay Area reports.

Wilson's top asset is his speed, as he accumulated 30 or more stolen bases in each of the past three seasons. However, the speedy outfielder hasn't ever hit well above the Double-A level, so the likelihood of him cracking the major league roster and making a fantasy-relevant impact is slim to none.

  • Marlins' Kenny Wilson: Reassigned to minor league camp

Wilson was reassigned to minor league camp on Tuesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Wilson was among seven players in Tuesday's round of cuts Tuesday, paring the number of Marlins in big league camp down to 56 players. The 26-year-old outfielder went 3-for-8 with four strikeouts, three walks, and an RBI in big league camp this spring. Wilson posted respectable numbers at Double-A last season, slashing .270/.348/.394 with 48 RBI over 130 games. He figures to start the season with Double-A Jacksonville again following Tuesday's reassignment.
