  • Mets' Jarrett Parker: Added to 60-man pool

Parker has been named to the Mets' 60-man player pool, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. The 31-year-old posted good numbers at Triple-A Salt Lake in the Angels' system last year, but Parker has never been able to establish himself as a consistent big-league hitter. He could get another chance as part of a Mets roster that is thin on healthy outfield options.

  • Mets' Jarrett Parker: Invited to Mets' spring training

Parker signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training. Parker spent most of 2019 with Triple-A Salt Lake, where he recorded a .929 OPS with 24 home runs and 75 RBI over 96 games. He appeared in five major-league games with the Angels, but he was designated for assignment after failing to record a hit. The 30-year-old will get the chance to compete as a non-roster invite at spring training, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him appear in the majors at some point in 2020 if he performs well in the Mets' organization.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Sent to Triple-A

Parker was sent outright to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. Parker, who was designated for assignment over the weekend, will remain in the Angels organization after passing through waivers untouched. In 63 games with Salt Lake this season, the outfielder owns a .294/.421/.592 line with 18 home runs and two stolen bases.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Removed from 40-man roster

Parker was designated for assignment by the Angels on Saturday. Parker joined the Angels on July 3 and went without a hit in 15 plate appearances. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the 30-year-old could return to Triple-A Salt Lake, where he had a .296/.424/.604 slash line with 19 homers prior to receiving the promotion.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Back to bench

Parker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. After Brian Goodwin (wrist) landed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Parker received the call to the big leagues to serve as the Angels' fourth outfielder. He entered the lineup the past three games with Justin Upton (quadriceps) out but failed to record a hit in 10 at-bats. Though Upton remains sidelined for the series finale, manager Brad Ausmus will turn to David Fletcher rather than the struggling Parker as the replacement in left field.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Promoted to majors

Parker was called up by the Angels on Wednesday. With Brian Goodwin (wrist) landing on the injured list, Parker will join the Angels for the first time, providing depth to the outfield. Formerly with the Giants, Parker has crushed the ball during his time with Triple-A Salt Lake this season (.296/.424/.604, 19 homers). However, there does not appear to be a path to regular at-bats with the big-league team.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Returning to action

Parker (oblique) is starting in right field for Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Parker has been dealing with the oblique injury for the last month but is now ready to make his season debut. The 30-year-old last appeared in the majors with the Giants in 2017 and slashed .247/.294/.416 in 177 plate appearances.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Dealing with oblique injury

Manager Brad Ausmus said Parker is dealing with an oblique injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. The severity of the issue is not yet known, but oblique injuries tend to linger, putting Parker's status for the start of the season in question. Prior to getting hurt the outfielder was hitting .241/.389/.517 with two homers and a 7:9 BB:K this spring.

  • Angels' Jarrett Parker: Continues impressive start

Parker went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs scored Monday against the White Sox. Parker delivered a two-run blast in the second inning to give the Angels an early lead. • Jarrett Parker: Released by San Francisco

The Giants released Parker on Monday, MLB.com reports. The Giants were unable to find a trade suitor willing to take on Parker's contract after he was designated for assignment Monday and the outfielder wasn't interested in opening the season at Triple-A Sacramento, so the two sides quickly agreed to part ways. It seems likely that Parker will still have to settle for a minor-league contract now that he's a free agent, but he could end up joining an organization that offers an easier path back to the majors. Over 382 career plate appearances in the big leagues, Parker has slashed .257/.335/.456, good for a 113 wRC+.

  • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Designated for assignment

Parker was designated for assignment Friday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Parker's roster spot was needed for non-roster invitee Derek Holland, who will open the season in the rotation in part thanks to injuries to Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Samardzija. Parker had some promising stretches in 2015 and 2016, but after failing to launch in 2017 (.247/.294/.416 in 51 games), the Giants deemed him expendable. Parker will be exposed to waivers, but his consistent strikeout problems may prove to be too much for any rival considering a claim.

  • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Will DH on Friday

Parker (shoulder) is set to DH against the Brewers in Friday's Cactus League opener, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Parker only played in 51 games last year due to a broken clavicle that he suffered in mid-April, and he was forced to leave winter ball in early November when he required a plate to be removed from the clavicle. He appears to be at full health as the Giants begin their spring games, and he will look to secure a spot on the Opening Day roster in the coming month.

  • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Undergoes procedure on clavicle

Parker won't participate in any additional winter league bal after having a plate removed from his clavicle, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Parker played in just 51 games during the 2017 season after breaking his clavicle early in the year. When healthy, he scraped together a .247/.294/.416 line and logged 23 RBI. He'll aim to be in full health for spring training, at which point he'll look to make a case to start in the Giants' outfield.

Parker is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Collects three hits in start

Parker started in left field and went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Monday against the Diamondbacks. Parker rode the pine over the Giants' last three games -- which all came against left-handed starters -- before making his triumphant return Monday. He's sitting against another southpaw Tuesday, but the slugging outfielder could be a cheap source of power (.178 isolated power rating) over the club's final four games of season, which all come against righties.

  • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Sits again Sunday

Parker is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. Parker will be withheld from the starting lineup for the third consecutive game as the Dodgers again bring a left-hander to the mound in Clayton Kershaw. Parker will be replaced in left field by Mac Williamson.

  • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Out versus southpaw

Parker is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Parker will head to the bench for a second straight contest as the Giants continue to limit his opportunities against left-handed pitchers. Gorkys Hernandez will start in left field Saturday against Hyun-Jin Ryu.

  • Giants' Jarrett Parker: Sitting against lefty

Parker is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The Giants continue to limit Parker's exposure to to same-handed pitching, which only makes sense given his lack of success against lefties (.600 OPS). Mac WIlliamson will get the nod in left field Friday against Rich Hill after Austin Slater got the start the last time San Francisco faced a southpaw.
