  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Lands on 7-day DL

Beliveau was placed on Triple-A Columbus' 7-day disabled list Sunday with a left knee contusion.

Columbus activated outfielder Mike Papi from the DL to assume Beliveau's spot on the active roster. The lefty reliever has been hit hard at Triple-A this season, conceding 20 earned runs on 23 hits and 16 walks over 26 innings.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Indians outrighted Beliveau to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

The lefty reliever will remain in the Cleveland organization after going unclaimed off waivers following his removal from the 40-man roster. Beliveau has made nine appearances for the big club this season, surrendering six runs on seven hits and five walks over 4.2 innings.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Designated for assignment

Beliveau was designated for assignment by the Indians on Saturday.

Beliveau tossed just 4.2 frames for the Tribe this season, but he still surrendered two home runs and six earned runs while walking five batters and allowing six hits. He'll likely wind up with the team's Triple-A Columbus affiliate again if he's unclaimed through waivers.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Called up from minors

Beliveau was called up from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Beliveau appeared in five games with the Indians this season before being sent back to Triple-A on May 8. He struggled out of the bullpen, posting a 10.80 ERA and 2.70 WHIP across 3.1 innings. The 31-year-old will look for redemption during his next stint in the big leagues as he figures to be used in relief.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Outrighted to Triple-A

Beliveau was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Beliveau, who was designated for assignment by the Indians after allowing four runs on five hits and four walks across 3.1 innings, will report to the Clippers after passing through waivers untouched. The 31-year-old owns an impressive 0.35 WHIP and 14:1 K:BB across 8.2 scoreless innings with Columbus this season. He'll continue to serve as organizational bullpen depth.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Taken off 40-man roster

Beliveau was designated for assignment by the Indians on Friday.

Beliveau turned in a second consecutive mediocre performance against Texas on Thursday, which appeared to have been the determining factor in his removal from the 40-man roster. Over five appearances with Cleveland this season, he has logged a 10.80 ERA and 2.70 WHIP with a 2:4 K:BB in 3.1 innings. He will report to Triple-A Columbus unless claimed by another organization.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Picks up save against Rangers

Beliveau got the save against the Rangers on Monday, striking out the one batter he faced to lock down a 7-5 win for the Indians.

After getting called up from Triple-A on Thursday, Beliveau struck out Joey Gallo to close this one out after regular closer Cody Allen was removed in a two-on, two-out jam after throwing 41 pitches. It was Beliveau's first big-league save since 2014, however, Allen is one of the best closers in baseball and has a firm grasp on the role in Cleveland, so don't expect Beliveau to be getting opportunities like this regularly.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Promoted to majors

Beliveau's contract was selected from Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

With Andrew Miller (hamstring) landing on the disabled list, Cleveland needed another lefty in the bullpen. As a result, Beliveau will head to the majors to provide relief to the relief corps. The 31-year-old has been excellent for the Clippers this season, holding the opposition scoreless in 8.2 innings while producing a 14:1 K:BB in that span.

  • Indians' Jeff Beliveau: Signs with Cleveland

Beliveau signed a minor-league deal with the Indians on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training.

Beliveau appeared in 19 games with the Blue Jays in 2017, posting a 7.47 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 15.2 relief innings. He fared much better during his time with Triple-A Buffalo, and will likely begin his tenure with Cleveland at the club's Triple-A affiliate to start the 2018 campaign.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Sent outright to Buffalo

Beliveau cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Beliveau was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Saturday, but he'll remain in the organization after no team plucked him off waivers. The southpaw will likely act as an organizational depth piece moving forward given his struggles at the major-league level throughout his career.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Loses 40-man roster spot Saturday

Beliveau was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The 30-year-old southpaw had been a revelation in the Blue Jays' bullpen for much of the season, but his 40-man roster spot was deemed to be expendable after allowing runs in his past four appearances (including six earned runs without recording an out Friday night). Beliveau will likely act as an organizational depth piece moving forward unless his early-season successes garner some intrigue from another club while he's exposed to waivers.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Making most of opportunity with Jays

Believeau managed a 3.14 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 14.1 innings (15 appearances) since making his Blue Jays debut on June 5.

Believeau had mixed results in four MLB seasons before signing a minor-league contract with the Jays in December. The 30-year-old lefty has proven more than capable of handling minor-league hitters -- so at this point in his career, it's MLB or bust. Believeau was called on to replace a struggling J.P. Howell in early June, and he's done just that, even earning himself a few late-game, high-leverage looks before the break.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Tallies two more punch outs

Beliveau struck out two Rangers over 1.2 scoreless innings Tuesday.

The left-handed rookie now has eight punch outs through 6.2 innings. Outside of a bad inning on June 16 against the White Sox, Beliveau has been serviceable for Toronto. The 30-year-old picked up his first MLB win Monday, but overall, Beliveau's low-leverage usage makes him unworthy of a fantasy roster spot.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Debuts with scoreless frame Monday

Making his 2017 debut, Beliveau allowed one hit over a scoreless inning Monday in Oakland.

It was a good outing for the lefty, who's hoping to stick in MLB for a while. If Beliveau can prove effective as a left-handed specialist, the Jays would certainly keep him around. However, his role on the big-league club is not one that typically yields fantasy relevance.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Contract purchased from Triple-A

Beliveau's contract was purchased from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

He is expected to take the spot of the struggling J.P. Howell, although that move is not yet official. Beliveau has a 3.09 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43 strikeouts in 32 innings at Triple-A this season.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Sent to minor-league camp

Beliveau was reassigned to minor-league camp Tuesday, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports.

He posted a 3.38 ERA this spring, but his 2.13 WHIP is more indicative of why he didn't earn a roster spot out of camp. Look for him to offer organizational bullpen depth at Triple-A in his first full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery two years ago.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Nearing full health after long road to recovery

Beliveau, nearly two years removed from shoulder surgery, said he's close to being back to full health, the Toronto Sun reports.

The 30-year-old has experienced a taxing rehab process full of ups and downs. Last year, Beliveau returned to the mound for the first time since his surgery and pitched 49.2 innings in the Orioles' minor league system (recording a 2.54 ERA), and then shut it down for a couple of months after the season ended. The left-hander, who signed with the Jays in December, says he's feeling close to 100 percent and will try to establish a spot in the bullpen.

  • Blue Jays' Jeff Beliveau: Gets spring training invite from Blue Jays

Beliveau signed a minor-league contract with a spring training invite with the Blue Jays on Thursday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.

Beliveau spent most of 2016 at High-A Frederick in the Orioles' system, putting up a 2.40 ERA in a league whose average player is six years younger than him. He was expected to move up quickly once he showed his shoulder was healthy after missing over a month with an injury, but he ended up waiting until mid-August to reach Double-A Bowie. Despite that slow movement, he possesses an acceptable 4.00 ERA in 45 career MLB innings, so he could be a factor in the Blue jays' bullpen depth.
