Tyler Wilson: To play in KBO
Wilson signed a contract to play on the LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organization in 2018, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
The 28-year-old righty was recently outrighted off the Orioles' 40-man roster, which is a bad sign for any aspiring starting pitcher. Instead of laboring in the minors, he took the security of a guaranteed deal overseas. He has a career 5.02 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 145.1 MLB innings.

Orioles' Tyler Wilson: Outrighted to Triple-A
Wilson cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Wilson passed through waivers untouched after being dropped from the 40-man roster Friday, so he'll report to Norfolk and continue serving as organizational pitching depth. He compiled a 7.04 ERA in 15.1 major-league innings this season.

Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
Wilson is back with the Orioles to provide a fresh arm out of the bullpen after Monday's starter, Wade Miley, lasted just 1.2 innings against the Brewers. He'll replace Jimmy Yacabonis on the roster, after Yacabonis tossed 3.1 innings of one-run ball in relief Monday. Wilson owns an unsightly 7.43 ERA and 6:4 K:BB through 13.1 big-league innings this year, so he'll likely be shuttled back to Triple-A once the Orioles need another fresh arm.

Wilson was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Wilson likely wouldn't have been available out of the bullpen Sunday after needing 22 pitches to get through an inning in Saturday's game, so he was dispatched back to the minors in exchange for a fresher arm in Logan Verrett. The Orioles could bring Wilson back the next time the big club has a need for an extra reliever.

Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.
This will be Wilson's third stint with the Orioles this season. He started the year in the bullpen and made a spot start at the beginning of May for the injured Kevin Gausman. Wilson owns a 4.91 ERA with a 5:3 K:BB through 11 big-league innings this season, so he likely won't be used in high-leverage situations, though he will be able to provide length out of the bullpen.

As anticipated, Wilson will head to the big leagues in order to make a spot start Thursday against the Red Sox. More likely than not, he'll head back to the minors after the start in order to keep the Orioles rotation intact moving forward, but for now he'll face the tall task of facing a potent Boston batting order. To make room for Wilson on the major-league roster, Richard Bleier was sent back to Triple-A.

Wilson will be recalled to start for the Orioles against the Red Sox on Thursday.
Currently with Triple-A Norfolk, the right-hander will replace Ubaldo Jimenez as the Oripoles shuffle things around after Kevin Gausman's ejection Wednesday and the subsequent relief appearance by Ubaldo Jimenez, Thursday's scheduled starter. Wilson has allowed three runs in five innings (five appearances) with the big club this year and four runs in seven at Triple-A, but he's thrown 11 scoreless frames in two lifetime outings at Fenway Park.

The Orioles needed a fresh arm in the bullpen, so Jayson Aquino, who was slated to start Thursday for Norfolk, was recalled to serve as the long man out of the big league bullpen in the short term. Wilson just pitched two innings in Tuesday's game, so he was going to be unavailable in the short term, but he will likely be back up before too long.

Per manager Buck Showalter, Wilson is going to begin the season in the bullpen, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
The 27-year-old was in the running for a rotation spot with Chris Tillman (shoulder) beginning the season on the disabled list, but it seems that his 5.30 spring ERA wasn't good enough to land him a spot as a starter. Wilson is definitely a candidate for spot starts further down the line, but for the time being, his low strikeout rates keep his fantasy value very low.

Orioles' Tyler Wilson: Still in hunt for starting rotation job
Manager Buck Showalter revealed that Wilson is among a handful of pitchers still in the race to temporarily replace starter Chris Tillman (shoulder) to open 2017, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
It's hard to believe Wilson will win the job based on the spring he's having in comparison to his competition. Wilson has allowed 10 runs on 14 hits over 12.2 Grapefruit League innings while opposing hitters have battered the righty for a .286 BAA. Gabriel Ynoa and Jayson Aquino have performed noticeably better, with the latter owning an 0.82 ERA and sporting a 10:1 K:BB through 11 innings. With other arms in place to fill long-relief roles, Wilson may wind up beginning the campaign in the minors to provide the organization with starting pitching depth.

Orioles' Tyler Wilson: Flawless in first spring outing
Wilson struck out one over two perfect innings Friday against the Tigers in the team's Grapefruit League opener.
Wilson only needed six pitches to retire Ian Kinsler, Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera in the opening frame. Originally, manager Buck Showalter thought that Wilson would throw only one inning, but he made such quick work of the Tigers in the first that he came out for a second. The right-hander, who is battling for one of the final spots on the Orioles' pitching staff, finished the day with 21 pitches. Wilson's main competition will come from right-handers Logan Verrett and Mike Wright, both of whom can start and relieve, as well as southpaws Richard Bleier and Vidal Nuno.

Orioles' Tyler Wilson: Confident that adjustments will bring success
Wilson made adjustments to his throwing program in the offseason that he hopes will propel him past the competition late in spring training, Rich Dubroff of MLB.com reports.
Wilson, who will get the start when the Orioles begin Grapefruit League play on Friday against the Tigers, is fighting to win one of the team's two remaining roster spots. Last year, Wilson open the year in the Orioles bullpen, moved into the starting rotation in late-April, and was sent to Triple-A Norfolk on July 3. The 27-year-old righty thought long and hard during the offseason on how he could improve his odds to have success in 2017. "Coming into camp, I'm trying to be a lot more responsible as far as my workload [going] into the season," Wilson said. "I made some adjustments in the offseason as far as length of throwing. I started a little later, to hopefully peak later on in spring training and later on in the season, and be able to withstand that deeper into the season."

Orioles' Tyler Wilson: In race for opening rotation slot
Wilson is a candidate to temporarily replace Chris Tillman (shoulder) in the O's rotation to open 2017, SB Nation reports.
Initial reports suggest Tillman won't be on the shelf long, but any opportunity is a good one for Wilson, who struggled in 2016. The righty went 4-6 with a 5.27 ERA in 24 appearances (94 innings) that included 13 starts last season. A good showing over a few starts could earn Wilson more outings during the upcoming campaign if starters Wade Miley or Ubaldo Jimenez struggle early in the year.
