  • Adam Walker: Moves to independent league

Walker signed with the Kansas City T-Bones of the independent American Association on Wednesday, Brandon Warne of The Athletic Minnesota reports.

A third-round pick in the 2012 draft, Walker topped out at the Triple-A level in affiliated baseball but didn't have much success there, hitting .216/.276/.422 in 185 games over the last two seasons. The 26-year-old could improve his stock in independent ball before making another run at the major leagues, but nothing in his track record suggests he'll be much of an asset if that ends up happening.

  • Adam Walker: Cut loose by Baltimore

Walker was released by the Orioles on Sunday.

Walker has been a member of four different organizations since the end of last season, and he'll now search for a new landing spot after struggling mightily with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate at Norfolk. The power-hitting outfielder managed just six hits in 67 at-bats and posted a 38.8 strikeout percentage across 18 games. He may have to prove his worth in the Double-A ranks with his next organization before getting another look in the minors' highest level.

  • Orioles' Adam Walker: Signs with Orioles

Walker signed a minor-league deal with the Orioles on Wednesday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

This is Walker's second stint with Baltimore. The Braves had claimed him off waivers in January, but outrighted him off their 40-man roster by the end of the month. The 25-year-old has great power potential but strikes out a bunch. In 14 games with Double-A Mississippi this season, Walker hit just .122 with four home runs (six hits total) and 12 RBI over 55 plate appearances.

  • Braves' Adam Walker: Outrighted off 40-man roster

Walker was outrighted off the Braves' 40-man roster Tuesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

It's been a busy offseason for Walker -- he's bounced from Minnesota to Milwaukee to Baltimore to Atlanta. The Braves claimed Walker off waivers less than a week ago but ultimately decided that 40-man spot would be better utilized on another player. There's no doubting Walker's tremendous raw power, but that power comes with a ton of swing and miss (397 strikeouts over the past two seasons) and there doesn't seem to be a lot of optimism that he will correct the holes in his swing.

  • Braves' Adam Walker: Claimed by Braves

Walker was claimed by Atlanta on Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubakto reports.

Atlanta becomes Walker's fourth organization of the offseason. The 25-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Friday to make room for Mark Trumbo on the 40-man roster. Walker has issues with the strikeout, as he went down on strikes 38 percent of the time with Triple-A Rochester in 2016, negating some of his exciting raw power. He hit 27 home runs and slashed .243/.305/.479 in 531 plate appearances over 132 games in 2016. He did hit better against lefties, slashing .264/.333/.552 against southpaws last season. If he finds his way onto the major league roster, he likely wouldn't find consistent playing time due to his issues with the strikeout.

  • Orioles' Adam Walker: Designated for assignment

Walker was designated for assignment Friday.

He was claimed off waivers by the Brewers in November and then the Orioles claimed him in December, so he could be in line to join his fourth organization of the offseason. Regardless of where he ends up, Walker has monster raw power but is unable to make enough contact to even profile as a Chris Carter type in the big leagues. This move was made so that the Orioles could add Mark Trumbo back on to the 40-man roster.

  • Orioles' Adam Walker: Plucked off waivers by Orioles

Walker was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Friday.

Walker only spent 10 days in the Brewers' organization and now he'll head back to the American League. The 25-year-old outfielder is a true three-outcome hitter as his 8.3 percent walk rate, 38 percent strikeout rate, and 27 home runs at the Triple-A level last season would attest. It's hard to imagine he'll be able to garner a regular role at the major league level until he makes some progress with his major swing-and-miss issues.

  • Brewers' Adam Walker: Designated for assignment

Walker was designated for assignment on Monday.

The Brewers recently claimed Walker, but quickly opted to give his 40-man roster spot to Steve Geltz, whom they claimed from Tampa Bay. Walker has 80-grade raw power, but his debilitating swing-and-miss issues prevent him from profiling as a big league regular.

  • Brewers' Adam Walker: Claimed by Brewers

Walker was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Friday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

A third-round pick in 2012, Walker packs tremendous raw power as evidenced his 124 home runs in 584 career games in the minors. However, he sells out for that power -- he's struck out nearly 400 times over the past two seasons (202 times in 2016). Walker's 25 and it seems the Twins lost hope in him ever making enough contact to be a useful major leaguer, but there's little downside here for the rebuilding Brewers, who could end up moving Walker in to first base.

  • Twins' Adam Walker: Hits three home runs in Triple-A game

Walker went 3-for-5 with three home runs Saturday for Triple-A Rochester.

Walker has been hot with five home runs in his last three games. He's hitting .240/.314/.504 at Triple-A. He continues to display outstanding power with nine home runs, but has struck out in 43.6 percent of his at-bats. His contact rate has always been an issue, but it's declined to just 51 percent at Triple-A. He'll need to make more contact other than home runs to have a shot at success in the majors.

  • Twins' Adam Walker: Back from oblique injury

Walker (oblique) returned to the lineup at Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

He promptly recorded a pair of strikeouts with zero hits in back-to-back games, but at least he's healthy. Given the Twins' depth in the outfield, 2016 should serve as a year for Walker to focus on fixing his approach at Triple-A.

  • Twins' Adam Walker: Out with strained oblique

Walker is day-to-day after straining an oblique muscle during batting practice Tuesday, Kevin Oklobzija of the Democrat & Chronicle reports.

The hulking slugger isn't expected to miss significant time with the injury, and the team wanted to be cautious with him Tuesday as it was freezing cold outside. He is 4-for-10 with a home run in his first three games, and will need to continue to work on his contact issues this year at Triple-A.

  • Twins' Adam Walker: Optioned to Triple-A

Walker was optioned to Triple-A Rochester.

Walker hit .239 with 31 home runs last season at Double-A. He led the minor leagues in home runs with 31, but struck out in 34.8 percent of his plate appearances. He could be called up at some point this season if he can reduce his strikeouts.

  • Twins' Adam Walker: Added to 40-man roster

Walker was added to the Twins' 40-man roster on Friday.

The hulking outfielder was added primarily to protect him from the Rule-5 draft. He has insane raw power, but also carries about as much swing-and-miss in his game as anyone in the minor leagues. This makes him quite the high-risk/high-reward proposition in dynasty leagues.
