  • White Sox's Jake Johansen: Lands MiLB deal with White Sox

Johansen signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Tuesday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.

The former second-round draft pick was released by the Nationals earlier in May after struggling to a 6.17 ERA in 11.2 innings at the Double-A level. Johansen will likely report to Double-A Birmingham to try to revive his career in a new organization, although he'll need to work on commanding his 100 mph fastball and his secondary offerings if he wants to move up the organizational ladder any time soon.
