Cruz signed with the Cubs on Wednesday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Cruz was released by the Astros earlier in the offseason after posting a 4.27 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 116 innings with their Triple-A affiliate last season. The lefty is just 25 years old though, so the Cubs are apparently hoping he'll be able to continue developing in their system.
