Pirates' Guido Knudson: Pitches scoreless inning in win
Knudson pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk a 4-0 victory for Triple-A Indianapolis over Columbus on Sunday.
Knudson was roughed up this spring, giving up 15 hits, a walk, and five earned runs over 8.1 innings. However, his minor league stats paint a different picture as during his six seasons in the farm systems, the righty holds a 3.11 ERA through 246.1 innings. In his most recent stint with Triple-A Toledo, the now 26-year-old produced a 2.34 ERA along with 44 strikeouts over 42.1 innings. If Knudson can produce another season with a low ERA and high strikeout totals, he could get called up by the Pirates at some point in 2016.
