Marksberry (shoulder) has started lifting weights and has steadily enhanced his conditioning exercises on a daily basis, MLB.com reports.
A truly scary situation unfolded last month, with Marksberry being placed in a medically induced coma after suffering a seizure. Fortunately, it seems he's recovering well and starting to regain some sense of normalcy. Marksberry's goal is to enter spring training without any restrictions after missing a significant portion of 2016 with a shoulder injury.

Marksberry awoke from a medically induced coma Thursday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Marksberry reportedly suffered a seizure and collapsed lung while undergoing a colonoscopy Tuesday. It's obviously a very serious situation.

Marksberry was placed on the 15-Day DL on Sunday due to inflammation in his left rotator cuff.
Just three days after being recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett, Marksberry will hit the shelf after feeling pain in his pitching arm. Marksberry had tossed 1.2 scoreless innings over two games during his latest stint in the show and owns a 5.40 ERA for the season.

Marksberry has performed well during stints with Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett this season, posting a combined 2.32 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over 42.2 innings. He'll now join fellow call-up Jose Ramirez as the Braves search for bullpen talent in second half of their squandered 2016 season.

Marksberry was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Marksberry was only with the Braves for five days, making two sub-par relief appearances that resulted in a 10.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 1.2 innings pitched. He will be sent back to Triple-A where he has had a fantastic season at Triple-A thus far (2.84 ERA) in order to make room for starting pitcher Joel De La Cruz.

The lefty will return for his second stint with the big club this season, reinforcing a bullpen that was needed for 4.2 innings in relief of Aaron Blair on Friday. Marksberry's control has wavered with Gwinnett this season -- he's issued 14 walks in 25.1 innings -- and it's unlikely he'll be entrusted with high-leverage innings.
