  • Reds' Nick Lee: Inks MiLB deal with Reds

Lee signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Thursday.

The southpaw missed all of 2018 while rehabbing from a broken elbow suffered in 2017. He figures to act as an organizational depth piece for the Reds moving forward.

  • Nationals' Nick Lee: Diagnosed with fractured elbow

Nationals manager Dusty Baker said Tuesday that Lee was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture in his throwing elbow and will be out indefinitely, MASN Sports' Pete Kerzel reports.

Lee will head back to Washington later in the week to meet with doctors, at which point a clearer timetable for his return could be determined. At the very least, however, it looks likely that Lee is done for the rest of spring training, and he could be sidelined for all of 2017 if surgery is deemed necessary. The 26-year-old converted to a relief role back in 2015 and probably isn't worth tracking in dynasty formats at this point.

  • Nationals' Nick Lee: Exits with arm injury

Lee left Saturday's game with an apparent arm injury, Mark Zuckerman of MASN reports.

The severity of the injury is not yet known, but the 26-year-old gave up a home run right before exiting with the arm issue. He'll head for an MRI on Sunday, but consider him day-to-day until the team says otherwise. When he does return, he'll serve as organizational depth in 2017.

  • Nationals' Nick Lee: Clears waivers, outrighted to Double-A

Lee cleared waivers Saturday and was outrighted to Double-A Harrisburg, the Washington Post's Chelsea Janes reports.

He was designated for assignment earlier in the week to clear a spot on the 40-man roster, although he never left Double-A, as he was simply added to the 40-man before the season to protect him against the Rule 5 draft. The lefty reliever will continue to serve as organizational depth going forward.

  • Nationals' Nick Lee: Designated for assignment

Lee was designated for assignment by the Nationals on Wednesday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.

Lee has struggled this season, posting a 4.54 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 35.2 innings at Double-A Harrisburg. In his career, the 25-year-old owns a 4.33 and 1.53 WHIP in 284.2 innings. Lee has pitched in a relief role since 2014 in the Nationals' system.

  • Nationals' Nick Lee: Optioned to Double-A

Lee was optioned to Double-A Harrisburg on Monday.

With only 24 innings under his belt at Double-A, Lee was never a realistic candidate to make the team out of spring training. He should continue to work on his command/control in the upper levels of the minors in 2016.
