Rockies' Tommy Doyle: Summoned to majors
The Rockies recalled Doyle from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Doyle was optioned to Albuquerque a week and a half ago, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the Rockies bullpen after Colorado placed reliever Tyler Kinley (elbow) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The Rockies optioned Doyle to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. Doyle was brought up from Triple-A toward the end of July and has since surrendered five runs over 7.1 innings out of the bullpen. Mark Bowman@mlbbowman2H agoBy starting Waldrep tomorrow, ahead of Monday's offday, the Braves are again taking advantage of giving their starters extra rest. Instead of shutting Lopez or Sale down at some point, they believe they can keep both strong by making sure they regularly start with extra rest.

Waldrep, 22, was a first-round pick less than 12 months ago out of the University of Florida and has made 18 minor league starts including 2 in Triple A.
