  • Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Nabs fourth win

Imanaga (4-0) earned the win Friday over the Red Sox, allowing one run on five hits and one walk across 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

It was another strong outing from Imanaga, with Boston's lone run coming on a Tyler O'Neill solo homer in the fourth inning. It's safe to say the 30-year-old southpaw has exceeded expectations thus far -- Imanaga's yet to allow more than two earned runs in a start, and his ERA now sits at a stellar 0.98 with a 0.80 WHIP and 28:3 K:BB across five outings (27.2 innings). He's currently slated for a road matchup with the Mets in his next start.

The Japanese right-hander finally surrendered his first earned runs of the season Saturday, but he still pitched well and delivered his second quality start. Imanaga generated 17 swinging strikes on 92 pitches and didn't issue a walk for the third time in four outings. He has a 0.84 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 21:2 K:BB over 21.1 innings.

  • Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Still no earned runs given up

Imanaga (2-0) earned the win over Seattle on Saturday, allowing an unearned run on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.1 innings.

Imanaga entered the contest having fired 10 scoreless innings to begin his MLB career. He did give up a run Saturday, but it was unearned. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Imanaga is one of five hurlers in MLB history to go at least four innings without allowing an earned run in each of his first three big-league appearances. The Japanese southpaw has provided an excellent return for fantasy managers who invested in him on draft day, as he's complemented his 0.00 ERA with a 16:2 K:BB through 15.1 frames.

  • Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Spotless in rain-shortened start

Imanaga pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.

Imanaga was off to a stellar start Sunday before the game went into a nearly three-hour rain delay, prematurely bringing his outing to a close. The left-hander has now opened the 2024 campaign and his Cubs career with 10 scoreless frames while recording 12 punchouts. Imanaga is tentatively set to return to the mound Saturday on the road versus Seattle.
