Siani went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and one stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win over the Orioles. Siani hit an RBI single in the second inning and then hit his first big-league homer in the fourth, a three-run blast off Dean Kremer. The long ball was Siani's first extra-base hit since a double May 12 versus the Brewers. The outfielder is batting .341 (14-for-41) over 16 contests in May, though he's still at a mediocre .238 average and .611 OPS through 93 plate appearances on the year. He's added six RBI, 13 runs scored and five steals.... See More ... See Less

Cardinals' Mike Siani: Posts fourth steal
Siani went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels. Siani continues to hit well in May -- he's 11-for-27 (.407) over 11 contests this month. The center fielder has added two of his four steals, but he hasn't done much in the way of power with just one extra-base hit during the month. Overall, Siani is slashing .242/.306/.288 with two RBI, 12 runs scored and no home runs through 77 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Mike Siani: Swipes bag in win
Siani went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Brewers. Siani has slipped into a part-time role since Dylan Carlson returned from a shoulder injury. It appears to have lit a spark in Siani's game -- he's 10-for-21 (.476) over nine games in May. The outfielder is at a .250/.318/.300 slash line with three steals, two RBI, 12 runs scored, one double and one triple through 71 plate appearances this season. The 24-year-old's defense is his best attribute, but none of the Cardinals' outfielders have hit particularly well, so he could gain more playing time if his bat stays warm.... See More ... Cardinals' Mike Siani: Moves into reserve role
Siani is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Dating back to April 20, Siani had started in all but one of the Cardinals' last 13 games, but his run as an everyday player has likely come to an end with Dylan Carlson (shoulder) returning from the 10-day injured list Sunday. Carlson will start in center field in his first game back from the shelf and should immediately settle into a full-time role.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Mike Siani: Sitting out first game
Siani is not in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader in Detroit. He had started eight straight games in center field after Victor Scott was sent down but will yield to Lars Nootbaar for this one. Siani will likely be back in center field for the second game Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Mike Siani: Notches second steal
Siani went 0-for-3 with one RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 extra-innings loss to the Mets. Siani is hitless over his last six games (0-for-17) while drawing two walks and striking out six times in that span. For now, he's the Cardinals' starting center fielder, but he's in the lineup mostly for his defense while Dylan Carlson (shoulder) and Tommy Edman (wrist) are on the mend. Siani is slashing just .108/.233/.162 with no home runs, one RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases this season.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Mike Siani: Opening season in MLB
Siani will be on the Cardinals' Opening Day roster, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Siani put together a solid spring, slashing .306/.432/.389 with nine runs scored across 44 plate appearances, and injuries to Lars Nootbaar (ribs) and Tommy Edman (wrist) likely played a factor when deciding to keep Siani on the roster for Opening Day. Siani will most likely come off the bench while he's with St. Louis, and he will likely head to Triple-A Memphis once Nootbaar or Edman return from the IL.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Mike Siani: In line for more looks
Siani could get a longer look as a depth outfielder with Tommy Edman (wrist) and Lars Nootbaar (ribs) questionable for Opening Day, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Siani is unlikely to win a starting job, but he could make his way onto the roster as a fourth or fifth outfielder if both of Edman and Nootbaar required injured list stints. Over his first 10 Grapefruit League games, Siani has gone 2-for-12 with five walks, one stolen base, two runs scored and two strikeouts. He has gone 4-for-29 over 17 career major-league games between the Cardinals and the Reds the last two seasons.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Mike Siani: Claimed by Cards
The Cardinals claimed Siani off waivers from the Reds on Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Memphis, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Siani was DFA'd by Cincinnati on Thursday in order to make room on the roster for Hunter Renfroe and Harrison Bader, and he'll now join a division rival in St. Louis. The 24-year-old outfielder is slashing .228/.344/.354 across 454 plate appearances in Triple-A this season.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Mike Siani: Dropped from 40-man roster
Siani was designated for assignment by the Reds on Thursday. Siani has posted an underwhelming .698 OPS in 108 games this season with Triple-A Louisville and holds a career .167/.200/.167 batting line in 25 major-league plate appearances. The 24-year-old outfielder was a fourth-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft out of a Philadelphia high school, but he is now off the 40-man roster in Cincinnati as the Reds welcome in waiver claims Harrison Bader and Hunter Renfroe.... Reds' Mike Siani: Optioned to Louisville
Cincinnati optioned Siani to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. Siani went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored during his six-day stay on the Reds' major-league roster. Alejo Lopez has been selected from Louisville ahead of Tuesday's game against the Giants.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Mike Siani: Recalled from Louisville
Cincinnati recalled Siani from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. Siani is not in the Reds' lineup Tuesday night against the Angels and might not get many starts, but he can back up all three outfield spots while offering some speed off the bench. The 24-year-old had slashed .228/.344/.355 with nine homers and 22 steals through 108 games this summer at Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Mike Siani: Back in action Friday
Siani (head) is starting in center field and batting seventh Friday against the Cubs. Siani suffered a head injury Tuesday but didn't suffer a concussion, and he'll return to the starting nine for Friday's series opener. The 23-year-old is 2-for-10 with three strikeouts since he was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Sept. 21.... See More ... See Less

Bernie Miklasz@miklasz1D agoNaw, the Cardinals don’t need a fifth starter. Everything is fine. Be patient. They’re the Cardinals. Smartest organization in sports. And they know more than we do. They’re absolutely determined to do whatever it takes to win. #Sarcasm
